Hinting Around to the Purchase of a Single Speed Mountain Bike

The closer it gets to a birthday or Christmas the more often parents may hear the words single speed mountain bike. If that is the case then there is probably an adventurer in the house who loves to ride through the off road terrains in their neighborhood. So for these parents knowing what to look for is important in making sure they have everything they need to travel over rocks, on dirt roads or wherever there sense of adventure may take them.

Mountain biking started back I the 1970's and now there are many different forms of this sport. Along with the different forms of the sport are different variations of bikes that go with each type of sport specific event. If the request is for one of these products that is designed specifically for cross country biking or downhill mountain biking then it is important that parents purchase the right one for the terrains they may encounter different types of mountain biking may put a greater demand on the bike. So before purchasing the hinted single speed mountain bike it is important to make sure that the design being purchased can handle the terrain and biking each child will be doing.

If you ask a single speed mountain bike rider about why their bike can take them almost anywhere they want to go the answer may very well be the tires. The tires on these two wheelers are what allow for the extra tire traction they will need as well as better shock absorption most use 26 inch wheels that have the traction treads. Let's face it a good old fashioned jump in the mud isn't the same without the best set of tires. These day's tubeless tires are becoming more and more popular on these products.

Once the determination of which type of mountain bike to purchase is done and the importance of the tires has been communicated, parents may be able then to find the single speed mountain bike they have been hinting for. Not yet there may be one more little determining factor that should be mentioned and that is the suspension. Hopefully they have also mentioned what type of suspension they would like on their single speed mountain bike. There are 4 different types of suspension the fully rigid frame has no suspension, the hard tail frame has front suspension but no rear suspension and then there is the soft tail that has a small amount of rear suspension that activates with the flex of a frame with no pivots. The final suspension that they may want is the full suspension which has both front and rear suspension.

No matter how many hints parents may get for the next birthday or holiday season finding what their child wants in one of these products can be done by asking a few questions and finding a few answers. Purchasing one of these products will definitely get their adventurous spirit ready to ride. Parents do not have to fear the hints of purchasing a single speed mountain bike when they understand that it will allow their child to enjoy off road terrain safely because that is what they are designed to do.
